Summer Bucket List Check-In

It's time to talk about my summer bucket list and everything I did and didn't do! When I wrote about this back in June, I really wasn't sure how it would pan out. Would putting this list out there truly give me that extra push to do as much as possible? Turns out the answer was yes.

This summer has been one of the busiest and most fun I've ever had. (And not going to lie, also the most tiring.) Here's what I crossed off my list!

✓ Go to a concert • I went to see Florence + Machine with Carina and Jana Kramer with Alexa.

✓ Travel outside the country • Two words: Dublin, Ireland. One of the most amazing experiences of my life was seeing the Cliffs of Moher.

Go to the beach • I don't know why but no matter how many times I mention wanting to go to the beach, it never seems to happen!

✓ Plan a weekend getaway with friends • Alexa, Kelly and I planned a weekend together in Cape Cod, MA. It was so much fun, all too brief and I can't wait to do it again.

✓ Photograph at least two places on this list • This only gets half a check mark because I went to one of these places, Duke Farms. But I already have plans with my cousins to check out more next month!

✓ Go to a musical • I finally saw An American in Paris and honestly, I don't know why it took me so long to watch it. I mean the title alone makes it obvious that it's right up my alley.

✓ Try 5 new ice cream places in NYC • This gets a big fat checkmark from me. I ended up trying 9 different places because I'm obsessed.

✓ Go to a museum • I went to the MoMA to see the Edgar Degas exhibit with Carina plus Alexa and I checked out the Women Artists in Fantasy & Science Fiction exhibit at the Society of Illustrators and the Museum of Ice Cream.

✓ Visit one new indie bookstore • I visited 3: Three Lives & Company, Bookbook and Argosy.

✓ Go to a food festival • Carina and I went to the Queens International Night Market. It was a bit of a trek for us but totally worth it.

Attend one class of my choiceI swore that I would go to at least one yoga class this summer but alas, my laziness always won out.

✓ Binge a new TV show • Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Stranger Things and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

✓ Do one thing outside my comfort zone • I purposely keep work and my personal life a bit separate so I usually don't hang out with coworkers outside the office. But when the few of the ladies in my department talked about getting massages after work one day, I couldn't pass it up. It was a lot of fun and super relaxing. And secondly, a bachelorette party I attended recently.

  3. Well done! I'm really impressed with your ability to check things off! I also believe firmly in separating work and personal life, but good for you to push your boundaries.
