August Recap + Flights of Fantasy Update

Life lately
I think I've said this at least 20 times these last couple of days but I can't believe it's the last week of August. How did that happen? And why is it already starting to feel like fall? I AM NOT READY FOR THIS. But.. it has been a really fun month though, as I already mentioned on Monday. I crossed off a bunch of things off my summer bucket list, organized a cousins' outing (brunch, escape the room + ice cream day!) and just made sure I had some time set aside for R&R. Plus I started working from home on Fridays which has been super nice. And in spite of not looking forward to fall, I think September is going to be a very interesting month. (Vague, I know! But I do ask that you send me good vibes.)

Read but not reviewed
  • Heat Wave by Karina Halle - 3 stars; the plot was just okay but it was the chemistry between the two main leads that kept me reading.
  • Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier - 4 stars; it is a very slow build that pays off in the end. I nearly bought the next two books in the series immediately after. (I'll borrow from the library instead!)
  • Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson - 5 stars; I've been long overdue for a reread but was scared it wouldn't be as good. My fears were unfounded because 5 years later, I love this book just as much as I did then.

Flights of Fantasy

I read 4 fantasy books, which include: Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson, Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows, Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier and Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore.

  1. I haven't reread Tiger Lily in years! But I remember when you gave it to me for Christmas :)
