.. I didn't really participate in the book blogging community (I was somewhat unaware of it, oops!). I only followed a couple blogs and I didn't even tweet my reviews because I didn't want coworkers (or even family & friends) to find my site.
.. I had very, very, very little knowledge of ARCs & publishers, wasn't on Netgalley and the like. There are still times when I feel like newbie so back then, I was like a newbie times a billion.

.. I've been blogging for 1.5 years and my posts are about 80% book reviews and 20% personal. The reviews just took over!
.. I've met bloggers in person (which has been great!), read more blogs, and make an effort to tweet/comment/chat. I still need to work on the latter more (and I promise that I am!).
.. I know what ARCs are! And I get books for review from Netgalley, Edelweiss and occasionally the author. Whenever I get approved for books or contacted (whether by email or tweet), it still makes me super giddy.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, whether you're newer blogger or a BEA-veteran - this is going to be a lot of fun! And that's probably my #1 piece of advice, just enjoy yourself. Also: wear comfy shoes, bring a backpack/suitcase and be prepared with a spreadsheet of the books you want and authors to meet. Trust me, it'll make things easier.
But if you want more tips about BEA, check out: these food recs (my faves, food trucks & treats and desserts), places to shop, things to do in NY (Broadway shows, bookstores, and tourist spots) and some good old-fashioned advice.

YAY FOR BEA! I'm still surprised that we didn't meet AT the last one, but now that we're friends, this BEA is going to be even MORE awesome.
