December Recap

Life lately
December is always filled with countdowns to the holidays and having a much-needed break. Lots and lots of dinners (and food in general!). Traditions with family and friends. And getting and giving presents, of course! Everything I just mentioned is why this is my favorite time of the year. I'm pretty sad it's over but excited for January and the many plans to come.

Book Reviews

Personal

Read but not reviewed
  • The Story of Us by Tara Sivec - 3 stars; It made me think of My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. Except it's way more steamy, ten times more angsty, and not quite as good.
  • In Paris With You by Clementine Beauvais - 2 stars; I opted out of doing a full review for this ARC because I was pretty disappointed. It's promoted as a second chance romance in Paris (my kryptonite!) but I didn't like either character at all nor did I find anything about their relationship romantic.
  • Queen of Air and Darkness (Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare - 5 stars; Wow, Cassandra Clare really knows how to write a series ender. I was immersed from page one until the very end.
  • One Day in December by Josie Silver - 3 stars; I really wanted to like this but I just couldn't hop onto the hype train. There was a lot of potential in the story but I never connected to anyone enough to root for the couple or feel invested in any of the emotions the book was clearly trying to evoke.
