Museums, macarons and more!

Loren, Tida and I at Museum of Arts & Design
When the girls and I planned a trip to check out the Museum of Arts & Design - that and lunch was really our only plan for the day. Then we ended up shopping, walking all over, stumbling across a Shakespeare and Company bookstore (I thought the only one was in Paris!), getting macarons at Laduree, going for tea at Alice's Tea Cup. We basically just wandered around and stopped anywhere that looked interesting. It was a lot of fun and it helped that it was gorgeous fall day in the city too.

I loved all the elaborate fashion jewelry and masks
and of course the section dedicated to Coco Chanel.
Loren thought this floor was creepy and ok, maybe it was. But it was still pretty cool too.
After the museum, we got lunch at Tolani. My cheeseburger
was delicious and the Bellini was good too.
Finally checked out the Laduree at NYC. The last time I had these was in Paris.
And just as good as I remembered!
Shakespeare & Company bookstore! They even had a cat roaming around
(just like the Paris one - maybe it's their thing?). I couldn't resist buying a book.
Last Stop: Alice's Tea Cup. The rose sencha tea was really good
and their scones? Best scones EVER.

  1. Ahhh that tea and scone looks super delish right now since I haven't had breakfast yet! I've been meaning to go to the Laduree shop in NYC for a while now and that box really makes me want to go now.

I wasn't aware there was a Shakespeare & Co shop in NYC either! It's cool that they even have the cat too. I think the French embassy was supposed to open a French language bookshop sometime this year (or maybe next year?) but I'm not sure if they went through with the plans (I recall reading something about it in ShelfAwareness earlier in the year).

  2. I always have a moment when you post on instagram, and I have a moment when you post your photos on here, too. Mostly the food ones. Because nomnomnom, food.

  3. Ohmygosh Lauduree is amazing. I don't think anyone can beat their macarons (they are flown over from Paris so....). I tried a macaron here in Milwaukee, and let's just say that they aren't anything close to the ones in NY.

  4. Basically it looks like you had a blast! Look at all that lovely food, I live in envy over here in boring upstate NY.

  5. This post makes me want to go to Laduree, visit Shakespeare & Company and go to Alice's Tea Cup. Perhaps we should do that on some random Saturday, even when it's cold? Pretty please? As always, lovely photos.
