Family Time + Broadway!

>> Celebrating 30 with my family <<
On Friday night, my family and I celebrated my birthday by going to The Manor. I love this place because it's an excuse to get all dressed up (guys must wear jackets) and it's a fine dining buffet. Which means I ate like 3 lobsters, other food and a lot of desserts. Just thinking about their creme brule makes my mouth water. But most of all, it was just fun being there with my big, crazy family. I could tell everyone was having a good time and we took so many pictures in their pretty garden. I felt like we all needed a night like this together.

(3) With my parents. My mom & I match! // (4) My adorable nephews & niece

(7) With Kai-Kai - isn't she adorable? // (8) My aunt & uncle who are like my other parents.

>> Matilda the Musical <<
Yesterday, Alexa and I spent almost the entire day in the city. I know I've said this before - but commuting to NYC and hanging out there for fun is so different from my daily commute. I just feel more aware of New York and all it has to offer (probably because I didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn). I really should do that more. Maybe when my life finally calms down a bit. Tangent aside, we started off our day getting brunch, then headed over to B&N to work on a blog project we're doing (and to buy books!) and then finally.. we watched Matilda. It was such a good adaptation of the book! But I was surprised by how dark the story was. It has been a while since I've read it so maybe I just forgot. But I really, really enjoyed it.
(1-2) We started off our day at Petite Abeille getting Belgian waffles for lunch. This was my first time there and I loved it! It was delicious and the place had such a cute & cozy atmosphere.
(3) Getting on line for the show! It was sold out. // (4) The stage was so vibrant and well put together. We snuck in a couple photos until someone told us that wasn't allowed. Oops!
(5) Alexa and I after the show   //  (6) Ended our day with Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The salted caramel was yummy.

Weekends like this just make Monday even harder.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend as much as I did!
