My thoughts…

The good: Halfway through this super engrossing book, I started telling one of my best friends that I had another book to add to her TBR list. As I told her about it, she said it sounded like Jason Bourne meets the X-Men. And you know what? That's actually pretty spot-on! It's a very action-packed book, from start to finish.  When Miranda wakes up remembering nothing, it's immediate chaos and I enjoyed getting to slowly put together all the pieces along with her.  She could've very easily turned into this damsel-in-distress character but she decides to just trust her instincts and says: "I don't know who I am, but I might be a badass."  Needless to say, I loved her character from that moment on. We get introduced to other important people in her life that she can't remember - Peter, Noah and Olive.  I enjoyed reading about their little unit, how they grew up together, their abilities and all the drama that went along with it.  The whole concept was very interesting and well-done. Much later in the book, a twist is revealed (which I obviously can't say here!) but this is the third book I've read recently on that particular topic and this is by far the best.

The bad:  I wouldn't call this a bad thing but there are a bunch of reveals towards the end of the book and one of them took me a couple reads to understand what it really meant.  Not because it was poorly explained but the details are so intricate (and made sense!) but I didn't get it right away. I also still have a couple questions but I have a feeling I'll get more answers in the next book.

Do I recommend?:  If you like fast-paced books with badass heroines, then yes I recommend.  I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to.
