Recent Purchases I'm Obsessed With

This has been a summer of some really unexpected, super cute shopping finds! I have cemented my love for the Longchamp brand, added more dresses (that aren't from Hill House!) to my closet, and finally found a pair of mom jeans that fit me right. Here's what I'm currently obsessed with:

Aria 5° Pointed-Toe Flats from Vivaia | I've been a long-time fan of Rothy's and own 4 pairs but one thing I noticed is that over time, my pointed toe flats have become tighter. I went to the store over the weekend and the sales lady told me that I should go a full size up (not just the recommended 1/2 size) because due to the recycled material, over time they will shrink as my feet get hot while walking, especially during the summer. Which was such a revelation because here I was thinking my feet were getting bigger! But hearing that made me feel extra good about trying out Vivaia, an alternative to Rothy's. While they're also recycled materials, the shoe is much softer, more cushioned and comfortable, and they're a much better price point. Plus I can actually get my real size and the shoe seems to mold naturally with my feet while I walk.  I'll have to see how they are a year from now but at this moment, I think I'll be getting my flats from here! So far I have the lavender and yellow but I'm already eyeing two other pairs. Here's their Amazon storefront as well

Old Navy Fit & Flare Non-Stretch Jean Smocked Midi Dress for Women | Because I've been gaining weight, it's been a while since I've been able to put on a slim-fitting dress and feel super good in it. This dress was so good that I got two of them! It's fitted at the top but the waist hits at a super-flattering spot for me and bottom half flares out just right. I love the denim and the white (which is what I have) but it comes in a couple other colors too.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Balm | I'm perfectly aware of how bougie it is to buy such an expensive lip balm but I'm a sucker for Chanel packaging and I actually love how it feels on my lips. It really does feel luxurious.

Amazon PrettyGarden Summer Casual Boho Midi Dress | A lot of my favorite influencers keep showing off their Amazon dress finds so I decided to give it a shot! I did the "try before you buy" thing with 5 dresses and this was the one and only winner. It's so comfy and light and is more of a maxi dress on my petite frame. I styled this with nude flats and a straw crossbody bag for work and I felt very put together.

Longchamp Essential Toile Tote | Alexa and I saw someone using this bag while we were out shopping and I couldn't stop thinking about it! I finally bought it when I could justify the purchase for work. I genuinely did want a tote that would fit my work laptop (only my large Longchamp Le Pliage tote does at the moment) plus I wanted an alternative to my backpack that could easily transition to the weekend. This totally fit the bill. I can expand the sides to fit my laptop as needed and then snap them shut for a smaller, casual look.

Abercrombie & Fitch Puff Sleeve Smocked Bodice Midi Dress | I clearly have a "type" when it comes to dresses but this one is so flattering and a bit different from my other smocked bodice midi dresses. It's a pretty shade of green that I don't currently own anything in and I love the square neck with the puffed, slightly longer sleeves. This will be great for transitioning into fall weather.

Jessica Simpson Jullema Slide Sandal | Last summer, I fell in love with the whole jelly sandal with pearls look and bought this expensive pair from Stuart Weitzman. Of course, after wearing them twice I realized how uncomfortable the thong part of the sandal was (I'll be selling these on Depop soon!). I still loved the look though so I found this much more affordable and comfortable pair from Jessica Simpson. It comes in clear or blush (I opted for clear this time) and I'm so glad I was able to find an alternative! It really is a fun look.

AE Strigid Mom Jean | I've been wanting mom jeans ever since they became a thing but every pair I tried (Abercrombie, Everlane) looked terrible on me. I'd had really good luck with AE in the past with jeans since they're so inclusive with sizing (to be fair, A&F is too) so I decided to check and found their Strigid Mom Jean. It's described as "rigid in the front & stretchy in the back!" which is exactly why I think it works for me. The front has a really nice shape and doesn't cling to me in all the wrong places but it has that stretch in the back, which is where I need it most. I'm still so shocked by how well this worked out for me. They just need to come out with more colors so I can buy more!

  1. I have just started getting adds for Vivaia and been debating trying them (as I had been debating Rothys but was worried about sizing because my feet are wide and more so after hearing they shrink!) so I'm excited to see they have the Amazon storefront and a personal testimonial from you now.
