Recent Purchases I'm Obsessed With

I am super excited to share today's post! I feel like this particular set of purchases really highlights my taste—my love of classic (and yes, sometimes luxury designer) pieces that I like to mix with down-to-earth looks. I do like to look chic but I want to be comfortable too. So with that said, here are my purchases from the last two months that I'm obsessed with

A New Day Sweatshirt |
This might sound really random but I've been loving sweatshirts lately. They're comfortable and warm plus super easy for me to dress up. I almost never wear sneakers so I'm often pairing my sweatshirts with dark denim, black boots (or loafers), and gold jewelry which elevates the look. I was drawn to this sweatshirt because of the color (it's more of a dark reddish rust in person) and I got a lot of compliments the first time I wore it.

Edited Pieces Nora Bracelet | Jean Wang, aka Extra Petite, started her own line of curated pieces targeted towards petites of all body types. She has about 8-9 pieces available and so far, I've only gotten the Constance necklace and the Nora bracelet (pictured here) and of the two, the latter is my favorite. It's elegant but a little weightier than my usual bracelets and the length is absolutely perfect for my wrists!

Express Puff Shoulder Sweatshirt | This sweatshirt is so good! It's warm and soft and I love the puff sleeve detailing. The body and armhole does run a bit narrow though so I sized up to a small.

Tory Burch Ella Mini Tote Bag | I've been eyeing this tote bag for 7+ months and I decided it was time to get it. I don't know if the price increased or I just got it on sale and didn't realize it, but I paid $178 for it, which I thought was extremely reasonable. It's well-made, great size for petites, and just so easy to throw stuff into.

Missoma Deconstructed Axiom Sphere Chain Necklace | I had seen this necklace on the Missoma website for a while but it never really appealed to me. Then one of the influencers I follow started wearing hers all the time and my coworker got it too. I was still iffy though because they both had an onyx stone and I thought that was the only option. When I saw this version with tiger's eye, I knew I had to get it. It's definitely more of a statement necklace compared to what I usually get but it's still subtle and I love it.

Celine C Charm Small Pouch Quilted Leather | I have a pretty small wallet so I wanted a little pouch  that I could put bills, loose change etc., in. I was browsing Rebag since I had a lot of credit plus a sale was going on too when I came across this. I immediately fell in love with the look of the quilted brown leather with gold accents. It was a bit of an impromptu purchase but I got it for < $200 when it retails over $400 so it was a steal. I think this style may be discontinued though so you can only get it through pre-loved sites.

GIBSONLOOK Belted Swiss Dot Midi Dress | I saw this dress over a year ago but I didn't get it because I didn't have anywhere to wear it to and then it went out of stock. I kept it on my Nordstrom wishlist though and when it recently got restocked, I thought—why not? I figured I could just return it, if anything. And wow this dress is not only beautiful in person, but it's the first dress I've put on in a really long time (excluding the Nap dress) that I felt really good in. I can't wait to have an occasion to wear it to!

Chanel Medium Classic Flap in Caviar Leather with Gold Hardware | I purposely saved the best for last because I finally bought the bag of my dreams! I've been wanting to buy this bag since I was in college (for reference: I'm 38) but I could never pull the trigger because I felt a ton of guilt making a purchase like this for myself and then the prices kept rising, especially in the last two years. Then at the beginning of January, I was like -- I can't stop thinking about this bag, I'm going to do it. I'll buy it preowned and use my bonus towards it and that's exactly what I did. I purchased it through Julia Rose Boston (follow her on IG too!) and I have no regrets whatsoever. It's honestly the most beautiful bag I've ever seen, in pristine condition (the previous owner only used it 3-4 times), and I've been using it so much already. (Note: If you'd like to know more about buying pre-owned or more about my experience with Julia, let me know in the comments and I'll do a post on either or both!)
