Review: Life's Too Short by Abby Jimenez

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars | Given how much I loved The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist, I had no doubts that I would feel the same way about Life's Too Short and as always, Abby Jimenez absolutely delivered.

Vanessa is a famous travel YouTuber who has lived every moment to the fullest. She doesn't know if she shares the same fatal genetic condition as her mother but she does know that she doesn't want to miss out on anything life has to offer. But when her half-sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in full custody of her infant daughter, it throws Vanessa's globe-trotting ways for a loop. But she steps up and finds unexpected help (and then some!) in the form of her hot lawyer neighbor, Adrian Copeland, whom she barely knows. Between being neighbors and his willingness to help, they become closer and closer and soon the one thing Vanessa was always afraid to do—fall in love—is within her reach. So the question is, what is she and Adrian going to do about it?

I'm really loving the whole neighbors falling in love trope, although it makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong. How come I've never had a hot neighbor?! All joking aside, it was so much fun to watch Vanessa and Adrian's relationship unfold. They're each so different. She's funny, smart, free-spirited and definitely quirky without ever falling into the "manicpixiegirl" stereotype. I admired her thirst for life but how she was still grounded by how she looked after her family (something I very much related to). On the other hand, Adrian has always been this workaholic who lived a pretty regimented life. Together, they encourage each other to step outside their comfort zone and the chemistry between them was palpable.

Do I recommend? Yes, I do! If you've already a fan of this series, you won't be a disappointed. And if you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend you do. Each book technically can stand on its own but characters from the previous books always make cameos in each one so I think it's best to start from the beginning.
