Links + Loves

Here are some non-bookish articles I really liked this past month and my latest loves.

Links
1 / This Medium article, "Quiet People in Meetings are Incredible" was written a year ago but a coworker of mine recently shared it on LinkedIn. Not only did I feel very seen as I read it, but I've been saying this for years. (Take that to all the people who would call on me during meetings!)

2 / I'll probably talk more about this in a future post but I recently made the decision to start looking into buying a townhome after renting the same apartment for 8 years. Verily wrote this post about "Homeownership as a Single Woman" right around the time I decided this and it felt like kismet.

3 / I really enjoyed the sentiment of this Cup of Jo post that asks the question: "What's your second chance for this year?" As we all start to get vaccinated (I got my two doses!) and more establishments begin to open up fully, how will our lives shift and what do we want to do with this second chance?

4 / I had no idea that Drew Barrymore released a new line of home appliances. Not only do they live up to their line's name Beautiful but all the reviews, including this one from Apartment Therapy, have been excellent. I totally want to buy the air fryer toaster (and more) for myself.

5 / Over the course of 2020 until now, I've become a big fan of Trevor Noah. His combination of humor and straightforward, eloquent honesty really hits the mark and this recent one on police brutality is a must-listen. (Follow him on IG if you don't already!)

6 / When I saw that Matador Network had put together a list of the best diners in New Jersey, I had to check it out! One of my long-time favorites, Tick Tock Diner, made the cut (as it should!) but there are few others on here I'd like to try eventually if they have outdoor dining.

7 / I had to buy triple creme brie recently for a recipe and omg, I couldn't stop snacking on the leftovers and adding it to my salads or sandwiches. I'm now obsessed with this idea of putting together a charcuterie board one night (I need to buy a platter first!) but the contributors at The Everygirl tried the best Trader Joe's cheeses and ranked them. I definitely need to try their recommendations!

Loves

1 /
I bought the LANEIGE lip treatment balm during the recent Sephora sale and I love it! It feels great on my lips and even though there's no color, it gives my lips a nice shine.

2 / One of my favorite Filipino snacks is something called Sweet Corn. One of the influencers I follow mentioned that these Korean chips taste similar so of course I had to look this up on Amazon to try. I've ordered these snacks twice since then. They're just so good! If you love that sweet and salty mix, you'd probably enjoy this too.

3 / Something I never thought I needed and impulse bought on Etsy is this vaccination card holder. One of my book buddies bought one and I thought it was a great idea. I've been worried about losing this card so I decided to look up "vaccine card holders" on Etsy and there are a ton of options! (People really think of everything.) I liked this one best and thought the price point was fair. It arrived yesterday and I'm quite happy with this purchase.
