March Recap

Life lately
What a month! I traveled to Palo Alto for work, ApollyCon for a weekend and packed the rest of my time with a Broadway show, book signings and the usual dinners with friends. It's made March fly by so quickly and I'm realizing just how soon it's going to be May. And no, I'm not forgetting about April but I'm going to Paris with Alexa in May and I can't stop thinking about it. I'm in desperate need of a vacation but in the meantime I'm looking forward to what the next month will bring. (Hopefully warmer weather!)

Book Reviews

Read but not reviewed
  • In Bed with the Beast (The Naughty Princess Club, #2) by Tara Sivec - 3 stars; These books are just so fun and never fail to make me laugh out. I don't find them to be particularly steamy but I do ship the romances and the friendship between the 3 women is still the best part.
  • The Risk (Briar U, #2) by Elle Kennedy - 4.5 stars; She does the best hockey romances! Even though The Deal is still my ultimate fave from her, The Risk is definitely the runner up. It balanced being sexy and fun with having a deeper, heartfelt story really well.
  • My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren - 3 stars; While it was still entertaining, it's my least favorite book from them. I'm never a big fan of the girl who only has guy friends which is the case here and I honestly didn't fully connect with her inability to be honest. Like I understood to a certain point and then it became too much. (Sidenote: Eva Mendes once said in an interview, "You know those girls who say they don’t have any girlfriends? I always say 'run for the hills when you hear that.'" I always think of that when I read books where girls only hang out with boys.)
  • Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith - 4.5 stars; I loved this book so much! The concept of two strangers meeting on a train to travel together and fall for the other was so well-executed. I was falling in love right along with them!
  • Sadie by Courtney Summers - 4.5 stars; I'm normally not a mystery/suspense reader but this came so highly recommended by friends that I couldn't help checking out and OMG, I'm so glad I did. I was sucked in immediately and read it in a single day.
  • Linger (Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater - 4 stars; I am so late so this series but I'm enjoying it a lot! Even though I've always been a pro-paranormal romance, I've also always been anti-werewolf. Until I read these books.

  1. You read so many books I enjoyed in the month of March! I adore The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, as you well know, and I also really liked Sadie and The Risk. And Field Notes on Love is still one of my favorite books I've read this year!
