My Anne of Green Gables Collection

If you follow me on Instagram (or know me at all!), then you're probably aware that I collect copies of Anne of Green Gables. A couple of years ago, I shared a post talking about the 15 editions I owned at the time and how this collection kind of happened by accident. I started off with only the one set I'd had since high school but when a friend randomly gifted me with a beautiful hardcover, I became a little bit obsessed with finding more. (Plus I had help from friends!)

Now, I'm up to 39 copies, with 3 more on pre-order and I even need to buy a whole new bookshelf just to house them. But I truly love owning these editions. It's pretty amazing that even years and years later, publishing companies and illustrators are still finding new ways to interpret this feisty, unforgettable heroine, who played a huge role in making me fall in love with reading.

Here are all my copies!
I'm going to try and link to as many of them as possible

Special thank you to Alexa and Hannah who have been asking for updates on my collection
and ultimately gave me the idea for this post!

  1. I low key collect editions of Emma by Jane Austen for obvious reasons and actively acquired 4 sets of Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series this year which is totally ridiculous. Sometimes I also acquire duplicates of books and end up just going with it so I also have multiples of The Hobbit (need to find a set of LOTR now that will be readable without causing me stress worrying about damaging them!), Gabrielle Zevin's Birthright series (my interview with her is in a couple of the paperbacks so), and some other random ones. The main problem is I don't count multiples as "owned" books during my inventories so while I only own between two and three hundred books at any given time my shelves suggest otherwise.

  2. You know how I feel about collecting books that are special/important to me, so I approve 100% wholeheartedly of your Anne collection and love that you showcased them all! I'm also happy to be someone who contributes heavily to this collection ;)
