Plot • Autumn Collins gets accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend with fellow classmate and "bad boy" Dax Miller. I thought the entire plot would take place over the course said weekend but it's only a short portion of it. The story is mostly about what comes after for these two.

Characters • Autumn and Dax are both very difficult people so it made their grudging friendship turned romance both frustrating and worth it. In fact, that actually sums up how I feel about them as individuals too. There were moments when I wanted to reach into the book and shake them but at the same time, the author provides a back story that explains why they're the way they are.

Writing • I really enjoy Kasie West's writing. It's just fun, light and engaging. I find myself always breezing through her books.

Overall feelings • I liked it! It wasn't my favorite of hers (it's still P.S. I Like You and Pivot Point) but it was good for a quick, one-sitting read.

Favorite library • The main branch of New York Public Library! I went for the first time recently and it's just beautiful. If you're in NYC and haven't seen it or the Main Rose Reading Room yet, go go go.

  1. We definitely felt similarly about BY YOUR SIDE. It was cute, and there were certainly aspects of it I liked, but it's also not my favorite of her stories!

  2. It sounds really cute! I can see that I probably won't like it as much as I loved P.S. I Like You, but I'll still read it since I definitely want to read all of her books!
