BookBags (39): Summer Reading

Monthly feature where I pair books with bags or share what's in a bag (mine or otherwise!) est. 4/2013.

I've read some pretty great YA contemporary books this year but I can easily tell you my top three so far. They are: Shuffle, Repeat by Jen Klein, Summer of Sloane by Erin L. Schneider, and The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (technically it's a mystery but I think it still counts!). These are books I would highly recommend you read this summer, which is why I'm featuring them today.

When I pick bags to match the books, I typically try find ones I would probably use myself. This time around I'm doing something different. Instead I chose playful styles to not only match the cover but also match how I felt about the book too.

Summer of Sloane + Breath of Fresh Air Tiki Bar Crossbody | Sloane spends the summer in Hawaii and through the author's vivid descriptions, it was easy to imagine the carefree island life. Beaches, surfing and fun with friends!

Shuffle, RepeatHotline Crossbody bag | My favorite thing about Shuffle, Repeat was watching June and Oliver's relationship unfold. At first it seemed like they had nothing to say and soon there were debates, dares, texts/phone calls and all sorts of cuteness.

The Long GameMini Clutch Girlgang | If I were to put together a fictional girl gang or squad or whatever the millennials are calling it these days, I'd want Tess Kendrick on my side for sure.

Which bag + book pairing is your favorite?
And have you read any of these books?

  1. Summer of Sloane is one my top contemporaries of the year too<3! I really need to read The Fixer so I can move on to The Long Game. I forgot that I had pre-ordered the second book with the intention of reading The Fixer before it came out but nope didn't happen!
