RACHEL • "Recover" by CHVRCHES
A coworker and I were just talking about CHVRCHES (pronounced "churches") and he thinks they're going to be the next big thing. I can't help but agree since I've been playing this song a lot lately. It's catchy but there's this underlying feeling of yearning in it. At least that's the impression I get every time I hear the chorus: "And if I recover / will you be my comfort / or it can be over / or we can just leave it here". It's my fave part! Hope you enjoy :)



CARINA • "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes
I watched "Take Me Home Tonight" this past weekend and actually really enjoyed it. There was a scene from the movie where this song played and I guess I'm just a sap (or I just love 80s music) because soon after I saw that scene, I wanted to immediately download this song. It was your classic movie scene found in many RomComs - girl (of main character's interest) walks in the room (in slow motion), cue music for added effect, and the rest is movie magic history. If you're in the mood for a funny romantic comedy with a fun soundtrack, check the movie out and enjoy my song choice for this week!
