Links + Loves

Here are some non-bookish articles I really liked this past month and my latest loves.

Links
1 / The Everygirl's article, "What to Focus on Right Now Instead of Trying to Find the 'Right Person'" has basically been my life and proud of it!

2 / I laughed when I saw Society 6's blog post on 4 colors that will instantly boost your mood because two of them are a part of my apartment's color scheme and all four can be seen in my clothes.

3 / I have been saying this for forever! "Your state of mind is a direct mirror of your living environment" and both Marie Kondo (and Apartment Therapy) agree with me! I read the book years ago but I totally want to check out the Netflix show too.

4 / My dream bag is a classic flap bag from Chanel but I have yet to be able to justify the cost in my mind. The blogger at The Stripe talks about her first (and subsequent!) Chanel bag purchases and I actually really liked what she had to say. Maybe a Chanel bag will be in my future.

5 / I started following Lauren Loves on LIKEtoKNOW.it after stumbling across her review of Madewell jeans. I personally don't need any convincing seeing as that I own 3 pairs but if you've never tried their jeans, check out her review. I can't recommend them enough!

6 / It's no secret that I'm not a fan of start-up culture despite working at them for most of my career. This article on the New York Times, "Why Are Young People Pretending to Love Work?", points out a lot of the reasons why I feel that way.

7 / Kotaku's post, "Japan is getting yet another Hello Kitty train" gave me yet another reason to visit Japan one day.

Loves

1 / I usually have hard-boiled eggs every morning so I like to make them in bulk so I can just grab a couple as I rush out to catch the bus. When I saw the Dash rapid egg cooker I added it to my Secret Santa wishlist and I was so happy my cousin got it for me! I use it all the time now.

2 / I literally just bought these fleece-lined tights last week because I knew I wanted to wear a dress to Leigh Bardugo's book event and wow, game changer! I feel like I can wear dresses/skirts again during winter without freezing.

3 / Continuing with my love of Dash kitchen products, I got their mini waffle maker and again, I'm such a fan. I've been using it on Saturday mornings when I don't have any plans and it's so easy to use.

  2. My new goal for 2020 is to meal plan a little bit, both to save money and to eat healthier! I actually want to get that egg cooker - it's so cute.
