But probably what I truly love about summer style is how easy it is to look put together. I can throw on a dress, simple jewelry, a pair of flats and I'm good to go. That's basically been my work uniform since June and then on the weekends, it's shorts and cute tops.
Shorts | Linen cotton short, Ikat basketweave short, Twill x Midi Short
The kind I've found to be most flattering (and comfortable) on me are mid or high-rise, not too short and with a little bit of stretch. I'm actually not big on denim pairs!
Dresses | Rays Your Grand Dress (the rest aren't sold anymore but are from: Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and Loft)
In general, I'm a fit and flare dress kind of gal. The top dresses are recent purchases but the bottom three I've had for years! As much as I love buying new things, it's also nice to have staple pieces that last me a while.
Tops | Galen camisole, Esther t-shirt, Matte jersey flutter sleeve top
I love tops that I can wear with anything. Both the camisole top and the flutter sleeve top can be paired with jeans, shorts, dress pants or a skirt. And who doesn't love a comfy tee that's both loose and flattering? All three pictured are fairly new but I've worn them all so much since buying.
Bags | Kate Spade satchel, Madewell transport crossbody
The flower satchel from Kate Spade is just so perfect for the summer! Then the transport bag I've had for a couple years and I use it constantly. I think it's totally worth it to invest in quality bags.
Shoes | Steve Madden sandals and Express flats
Neither of these are being sold anymore so I plan on making these two pairs of shoes last as long as possible. I love nude/blush-colored shoes because they go with everything! I keep telling myself to wear wedges or espadrilles during the summer but I can't help always reaching for my flats.

What are your summer essentials?
Summer is my favorite time to dress up, because I love being in dresses and shorts! I like to dress in clothing that's lightweight and brightly colored because that just screams summer to me ;) Love the shorts and dresses and pretty much all the things in this post!
