Books in Real Life, Episode 11: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

For this month's Books In Real Life we chose... To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han! We've been excited to do this one for a while. This is a book we both love and the main character, Lara Jean, is someone we totally adore. She's funny and warm, close with her family and figuring out her messy love life. And one of her favorite things to do is bake cookies. In fact, the book goes into detail about the kinds she makes and of the ones mentioned, we decided to try sugar cookies and chocolate chip. Two classic recipes that turned out extremely well!

Survey time! At the end of every Books In Real Life post, we are going to answer a few questions:

Anything you wish you'd known beforehand?
How hard (or rather, tiring) it would be to mix by hand. I definitely would've borrowed my mom's hand mixer if I had known!

What was your favorite part? Eating the cookies! We took them with us on our road trip to Boston and I was definitely eating them for the rest of the week also. We made a ton and I am not embarrassed to admit that I would occasionally eat 5 cookies at a time. Especially those sugar ones!

Would we do it again? Definitely. I hadn't baked in a while and it was just a lot of fun.

But before you go, here's the video Alexa created:

Until next time!

  1. YAY FOR BAKING COOKIES! I'm so glad we were able to make this Books in Real Life happen because (1) baking is fun with friends and (2) I LOVE COOKIES. Those sugar cookies in particular were DIVINE <3
