All You Need Is Love

Valentine's Day is coming up in a couple days and Alexa and I are back again with another All You Need Is Love this year! This time we're going to share our favorite first kisses, romantic movies and songs.

First Kisses
I thought this going to be really difficult, especially since I was purposely trying not to repeat my answers. (Obviously, the first first kisses that came to mind with Kat & Daemon and Pacey & Joey). But then suddenly I had my choices and they are so right.

For TV .. Veronica and Logan from Veronica Mars. I didn't even consider them as a couple until this episode. But from the moment they kissed, I WAS ALL FOR IT. (This was also the moment I noticed how hot Jason Dohring is.)

For books.. Mal and Alina from The Grisha Trilogy. This is one of my favorite series and they are one of my favorite literary couples. They just tugged at my heart strings from the very beginning. And in the moment leading up to their first kiss, Mal unleashes this rather epic monologue.

"I missed you every hour. And you know what the worst part was? It caught me completely by surprise. I'd catch myself just walking around to find you, not for any reason, just out of habit, because I'd seen something that I wanted to tell you about or because I wanted to hear your voice. And then I'd realize that you weren't there anymore, and every time, every single time, it was like having the wind knocked out of me. I've risked my life for you. I've walked half the length of Ravka for you, and I'd do it again and again and again just to be with you, just to starve with you and freeze with you and hear you complain about hard cheese every day. So don't tell me why we don't belong together," he said fiercely.

For movies
.. Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone from Crazy Stupid Love. Ryan Gosling is always hot and charismatic but it's just on a whole other level here. And Emma Stone is always adorable and relatable, maybe even more so in this movie. Putting these two together? Amazing chemistry. I love their first kiss!

Romantic Movies
Before Sunrise is an oldie and even though Before Sunset is my favorite of that particular trilogy, Sunrise is the most romantic in an idealistic sense. Then Definitely, Maybe is another favorite. I loved how the story was told and from the moment April is introduced, I hoped she and Ryan Reynolds' character would end up together. And lastly, The Longest Ride. I only watched this recently but when I did, I watched it twice in one day! It has its cheesy moments but I enjoyed both romances and it doesn't hurt to see Scott Eastwood shirtless.

Songs
“Don’t Give Up on Me” by Solomon Burke
Please, don't give up on me
Oh please don't give up on me
I know its late, late in the game
But my feelings, my true feelings
Haven't changed
Here in my heart

“Love” by Jana Kramer
I still believe in fairy tales
I still believe in picking flowers
I still believe in getting lost in someone’s eyes
And talking for hours

“Like Real People Do” by Hozier
So I will not ask you where you came from
I would not ask and neither would you
Honey just put your sweet lips on my lips
We should just kiss like real people do

  1. It pleases me that we both picked Jana Kramer's "Love" for our songs section, and that we still managed to pick different lyrics! Ahem. Anyway, I really enjoyed your post! I really liked your movie choices, and first kiss choices, and basically just everything about it :)
