Sunday Flashback (1)

Sunday Flashback is a new feature where I'll highlight old reviews of books that tend to fly under the radar. These books are just as deserving of hype and buzz but for whatever reason, don't seem to get much attention. I'll always choose books I've already reviewed (reviews of lesser-hyped books tend to get lost among the more popular ones!) and I thought this might be a fun way to give them some attention. And if you happen to love these books too, we can fangirl over them together!

Today, I've decided to choose:

Harmonic Feedback and Amplified, both by Tara Kelly, are favorites of mine (especially Harmonic Feedback!). I'm a big fan of books that deal with music and the main characters here are both musicians. In Harmonic Feedback, Drea is a music-obsessed teen with a "touch of Asperger's" and in Amplified, Jasmine gets kicked out of her house and decides to pursue her dream of being in a band despite the odds. In both, there's music, romance, interesting characters and friendship. I really love the author's writing style. I highly recommend!

  1. I read Harmonic Feedback before I started blogging and I LOVED it! It's one of those few books where the secondary characters are done as brilliantly as the protagonist. I really enjoyed reading the interactions between Drea and Naomi too.
I haven't had the chance to pick up Amplied yet but I might do that soon.

Thanks for bringing back this great under-hyped book, Rachel! This is definitely a great idea for a feature. :)

  2. I'm seriously tempted to order Amplified from Book Outlet already, just so I can read it already. I do love that cover, and I knew that you loved this one too! I definitely will consider clicking BUY on that page later ;)
