RACHEL • "You're Not the One" by Sky Ferreira
Sky Ferreira was one of the opening acts for the Vampire Weekend concert that I went to and when her set was over, I couldn't get this song out of my head. Hearing it live - it's all about the lights, the pounding beat and they play it loud. But it was her voice and the words that reeled me in. It's about wanting and needing someone but that person really wants somebody else. I know it's meant to be in the romantic sense but you could apply to anything or anyone. I guess what I got from her words is that she just wants to be wanted back. I think we all can relate.



CARINA • "Thinkin 'Bout You" by Frank Ocean
This is the song that made me a big fan of Mr. Ocean. It reminds me of many things and I've been in a nostalgic mood lately. I remember first hearing this song a little over a year ago. I can't believe how fast this year went - many ups and downs but all of them memorable. After hearing a song I like, I usually search YouTube for covers. But after listening to a countless number of them, I realized nothing can compare to how Frank Ocean sings this song.. makes my heart ache. Enjoy this live version:
