Bookbags (6): Music Inspired

Monthly feature where I pair books with bags or share what's in a bag (mine or otherwise!) est. 4/2013.

I was struggling to come up with a theme for this month's Bookbags when Estelle suggested music. It's such a perfect theme for me to do - I kinda can't believe I didn't think of it sooner.

The Lucy Variations wasn't on my original list of books to include but when I saw this clutch, it immediately made me think of the book. The piano keys, the purple color scheme. Such a great match. Plus who doesn't want a $1,995 clutch based on a book cover? (If you can believe it, this clutch is sold out!)

I ama huge, huge fan of Tara Kelly's books. I loved Harmonic Feedback and Amplified, both of which have a focus on music. I really like the cover on Amplified because it's so simple and eye-catching and yellow is one of my favorite colors. I can always count on Kate Spade for vibrant bags so that was the first place I checked. When I saw this yellow, gray, black and white bag I knew it was the one.

I haven't posted my review for This Song Will Save Your Life yet but you might as well know now - I LOVED IT. Of the three bags I chose today, this one by Melie Blanco is probably the one I see myself wearing the most. It's colorful and cute but there's something neutral about it. Or maybe I just feel this way because I wear a lot of gray and purple so this would match about 70% of my closet.

What are some of your favorite music-themed books?
And which bag is your favorite?

  3. I'm so in love with the bags for Amplified and This Song Will Save Your Life, although that pink/purple/grey one wins by a teeny tiny margin. Such pretty choices! And this is definitely a good theme for Book Bags :)
