My thoughts...
Summary: In Pushing the Limits, two teens, brought together by their court ordered therapist, work together to learn the secrets of their case files, but neither foresaw the shattering consequences of learning the truth regarding their families or of falling in love. (Taken from katielmcgarry.com)

The good: I'm not even sure where to start.  The book alternates between Noah's and Echo's point-of-views and the sort of tragedy they've each experienced is so completely different from my own life.  I can't even begin to imagine or relate to it.  But somehow, I connected and became so invested in their characters.  The author really brought them to life and I could hear their voices so clearly through her words.  I wanted them to find peace individually and of course, find their way to each other.  Which, by the way, was SO well-done.  Seriously, the chemistry between them was just wow. I don't even know how else to explain it. It's a scenario we've all read before - good girl, bad boy. But I loved every minute of it.  I think what added to the intensity of their story was that they're both trying to find love and normalcy in a world that hasn't been very kind to them.
The bad: I gave this book five stars on Goodreads but there were a couple little things here and there that had me going.. huh. Like Noah had this tendency to get really poetic when describing Echo and I'm not quite sure I buy an 18 year old talking like that.  But at the same time, it was nice to read about a guy talking about how beautiful Echo is (you'll especially understand if you read the book). I'm getting sick of the YA novels where the girl constantly goes on about how hot the guy is and how she isn't.  Another thing about Noah's dialogue, he said "damn" and "baby" a lot (also a little possessive at times) but I think I could see a guy really speaking this way. There's also some talk about being together forever but given their circumstances and their age, I get that too. Just putting this all out there!

Do I recommend?:  Yes! I definitely recommend.  If you're in the mood for an intense love story filled with complex characters, this is the book for you.

Yes, I have a signed copy :)

At the end of the book, the author provided a playlist (which I think is awesome of her to do!), so I decided to recreate it for you here. (Minus "Hey Soul Sister" by Soul Train - can't stand that song.)
Happy reading!
