Here are some non-bookish articles I really liked this past month and my latest loves.

Links
1 / This singer, Charlotte Awbery, recently went viral when she sang "Shallow" as part of a game called "Finish the lyric" and I was seriously obsessed with the clip (and the rest of her covers) for days.

2 / Even though this article focuses on becoming a designer manager, I think it's really applicable to anyone who's debating a senior individual contributor role versus a managerial one and how it's okay if the latter isn't for you. It's something I get asked a lot at each of my jobs.

3 / "What color is your name?" I've heard of synesthesia but it was cool to read about and to see how my name would appear in color form.

4 / I'm a sucker for anything with the words French, Paris, Parisian or Francophile in it so SF Girl by Bay's recent "French Finds for Francophiles" post was basically click bait for me.

5 / I'm not really a basketball or even sports fan in general but I was surprised by how deeply I felt about the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi. I was definitely going on Internet rabbit holes reading up on him and his life and I watched a good portion of the televised memorial service. Shaquille O'Neal's tribute, in particular, was super touching and made me smile.

6 / According to Apartment Therapy, "Chip and Jo’s New Spring Target Collection Has More Small Space Furniture Than Ever" and I'm wondering if I can make time to make a Target run this weekend.

7 / There's nothing I love more than brightly lit apartments but as someone who struggled with this before, that natural light can be tough! The EveryGirl shares some tips on "how to make any apartment feel instantly brighter" and I can attest that these work!

Loves

1 / I'm actually slightly embarrassed to admit I spent so much on a brush but after Fashion Jackson raved so much about it, I had to see for myself if it was worth the hype. And omg, this Yves Durif Vented Hairbrush was actually worth it! It helps me to dry my hair so much faster now and I use it every day.

2 / While I was in LA, my cousin has this eco-friendly mug set and I was kind of obsessed with it. I don't know why! They were just so cute that I had to order myself a set when I got home.

3 / The cold weather and all its drastic changes have been wreaking havoc on my skin, including my hands. Like the skin was cracking to the point of bleeding (TMI? I apologize!). I knew I needed a more heavy-duty hand cream so I checked Avene since they're my go-to for this sort of thing. The Cicalfate Hand Cream Intense has worked wonders! I keep it at my desk at work now and it's truly helped a lot.

  1. I love Avene! They're a go to brand for me as well, especially in my younger years when I was struggling with a variety of skin issues. Also, I'm obsessed with the overall aesthetic of the mugs!
