What's In My Bag | Alexa from Alexa Loves Books

For the newbies: From 2013-2017, I had a BookBags feature where I paired books with bags and in the middle of that, I introduced What's in my Bag as a subset of that feature where I shared what's in my bag and invited other bloggers to guest post too. I'm so excited to bring this feature back this year (2019)!

One of my BFFs, Alexa of Alexa Loves Books, is on the blog today to share what's in her bag!

Hello, friends! I’ve always loved seeing Rachel’s What’s In My Bag posts, and I’m honored to be featured a second time! While I’m normally one to tout around a backpack or gigantic tote that contains everything I could possibly ever need for a day out and about, lately, I’ve been draw to using my crossbody bags more. There’s something nice about not having a big bag to lug around, and to be limited to only carrying the essentials!

The Bag

Zara black crossbody bag with silver accent details | This crossbody is an older style that can no longer be found on the website (see similar styles here, here, here and here). But it’s one of my favorite basic crossbody bags I own because it’s got multiple pockets (convenient for tucking away my phone and Metrocard for easy access), and the details make it a good option for both day and night use.

The Necessities

Society 6 "Let Me Live, Love and Say It Well" mini pouch | I carry my iPhone charger and a regular set of iPhone earphones with me all the time. You never know when you’ll end up needing either one!

AirPods | I love listening to audiobooks and music on my commutes (and at the office), so I always take these with me. I’ve had the actual AirPods for a while, but only recently picked up that pink silicone case they’re in — which make them a lot easier to find in my bag.

Pink card carrying case | I got this as a gift from my friend Pat! It’s a convenient way to carry only the cards and cash I need with me, and is the perfect size to slip into a smaller bag.

Big BAGGU | I always try to carry a reusable tote with me, just so I have an extra bag in case I acquire any new things while I’m out. I love the Baggu version because it’s so compact and can easily be tucked into a small space! Plus, the actual tote itself is rather large when you actually unfold it.

Keys | Can’t leave the house without my keys! I have mini versions of some of my loyalty cards (and my NYPL library card) on my keyring, as well as three actual keychain charms: a Hufflepuff one, a chibi Harry Potter and a leather heart that says book lover. All three were actually gifts!

Clutch/pouch from Peru | This was a gift from my sister Mel! I like that this is the perfect size for my essentials — hand sanitizer, wipes, lip gloss, lip balm, and anything else I might need in the same vein.

Kindle Oasis + Pages Remembered book sleeve | Truly, the best thing about this bag is that I can slip my Kindle Oasis in a sleeve into it! I just upgraded to the Oasis this year, and I love having a Kindle with a hand grip (great for commutes) and a backlight (also convenient for reading late at night or when traveling). I’m also obsessed with my book sleeve from Pages Remembered because it’s in a cute cherry blossom print!
