Links + Loves

Here are some non-bookish articles I really liked this past month and my latest loves.

Links
1 / Great post from The Everygirl on not confusing self-care with self-love.

2 / Cupcakes and Cashmere shares "Here's What Happened When I Started Giving 97% Instead of 100% Effort" and it's for anyone who needs reminder that it's okay to slow down and take a breath.

3 / I love reading personal essays from people who love traveling and what it's made them realize about themselves. The latest one on Dame Traveler called "Wander Woman – Lost and Found" is beautifully written.

4 / Cup of Jo posted an extremely personal and informational post about listening to your own body and knowing something is wrong, even when people in the medical field try to tell you otherwise.

5 / In case you've been living under a rock and didn't watch the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer, I've got you.

6 / I pretty much follow these 10 tips for helping you dress taller, but especially: wear high-waisted bottoms, tuck in your tops, and nude shoes are your best friend. If you're petite like me, definitely read the rest of the tips Crystalin Marie put together. They do work!

7 / The NY Times posted an opinion piece from author R.O. Kwon entitled, "Stop Calling Asian Women Adorable." Need I say more? Also, story of my life.

Loves

1 / I recently saw a lifestyle blogger share mats for washing makeup brushes and omg, it's a game-changer. Hers cost well over $40 but I got mine on Amazon for $8.99 and they're great.

2 / I was never interested in AirPods because they seemed so easy to lose but after hearing so many friends rave about how great they care, I bought myself a pair last week. Now I'm obsessed.

3 / I binged Season 2 of The OA last weekend and I'm still thinking about it. I feel like I spend most of it not actually understanding what's going on but that's okay. I'm invested in the characters and how they all connect. Plus I love that it's willing to be so unapologetically batsh*t crazy.

  1. I really need to watch season 2 of the OA but I feel like I have to rewatch season 1 because it's been so one. I also have mixed feelings on Airpods but I'm glad you like them.
