A Court of Frost and Starlight | Solstice Party Playlist

Happy release day to A Court of Frost and Starlight by the amazing Sarah J. Maas! All I can think about is going home so I can start reading and not stopping until I finish. (This really is my plan.)

To celebrate, Alexa of Alexa Loves Books, DJ of DJ Writes and I are throwing our very own Solstice Party on our blogs today. Alexa put together a delicious menu, DJ designed the invites and of course, I am providing the soundtrack.

In case you're wondering why we have this solstice party theme.. well, we were inspired by ACOFAS! The description says: "Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated–scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court."

When it came to the songs I chose, it was definitely more about the vibe than the lyrics. As I imagined what kind of music would be playing at a Night Court party, dance-pop or hip-hop didn't feel right at all. Instead I pictured a steady beat that everyone could definitely move to but it's the Night Court, so it needed to be slightly more sultry if that makes sense! My final playlist ended up being all-female singers with indie-alt-electronica vibes and who each sing from the heart in their own way. I think Feyre, Rhys and the Inner Court would appreciate that!

Hope you enjoy the playlist!
Would love to know which ones are your favorites.
