Sunday Flashback (6)

Sunday Flashback is a feature where I'll highlight old reviews of books that tend to fly under the radar.
I'll always choose books I've already reviewed and if you happen to love these books too, we can fangirl over them together!

Today, I've chosen:

Something Like Normal by Trish Doller

When I was trying to pick a book to feature today, I sat at my desk looking at my shelves and noticed  Something Like Normal by Trish Doller. It's been on my re-read list (no this list doesn't actually exist, except in my head) and given that it's only 215 pages, I made time for it this past week. It's a short, read-in-one-sitting kind of book that packs an emotional punch. It's so raw and reading it for the second reminded me of how much I loved Travis' realistic and honest POV. Actually, in general there's just a lot of amazing characters and heartfelt storylines going on. From Travis, to Harper a girl he reconnects with, his family drama, memories of his time in Afghanistan. It's one of the more mature YA books I've read and I can't say enough how much I love this author's writing. Her books are a must read! So start with this one.
