Five Things.

Five things from this past week!

1. Thirteen Days of Ash & Fire, An Heir of Fire Blog Tour

The blog tour Alexa, Judith, Jaz, Katie and I organized in honor of Sarah J. Maas' latest book, Heir of Fire, kicked off this past Monday! This whole idea for this came from a random Twitter conversation we had with Sarah. Which then turned into an email thread. Which then turned into full-blown planning since early July. But to actually see these super creative posts go live, the banner and badges on people's blogs, our hashtags being used - it's made me so happy! Check out the posts we have so far: Jaz's fancast, Katie's foodie fun, Kelly's quotesElena's wallpaper & Nicole's 5 reasons why she loves the series. And to keep up with the posts, follow the hashtags, #HoF13Tour or #MaasThirteen.

2. Best Stitch Fix box ever.

I signed up for Stitch Fix in the beginning of the year when Andi blogged about it. The first couple boxes were okay. I really loved the idea of it and while they were a couple items I did love (like this green maxi dress that fit perfectly!), I wasn't wowed overall by their styling efforts. Until this box. It's like they finally read my style profile and browsed my Pinterest. I pretty much wanted everything in my box! But that was not in my budget so I ended up narrowing it down to two things (with Estelle's help - thank you!). I got this polka dot skirt and collar statement necklace which are things I normally don't buy for myself but when I tried them on, I really liked how they both looked.

3. Buying multiple editions of the same book.

Considering the book rut I've been in lately, I feel like I need to re-read more books. But I digress. I'm now up to 7 copies of Anne of Green Gables and 2 of Throne of Glass (I needed the new cover!). The covers are ridiculously pretty in person.

4. The Leftovers

I started watching this show when it first came out, got up to episode 3 and just stopped. I didn't understand what was going on! (And ok, there's still a lot left unanswered.) But one of my friends had stuck with it so I decided to catch up last week and wow, I ended up getting sucked into it! Granted, my favorite part of the show is Justin Theroux because he's gorgeous and shirtless a lot and seriously he's 43?! But this last episode really brought everything together and I can't wait for the finale on Sunday!

Now for the song..

5. "If You Ever Want To Be In Love" by James Bay
I've been listening to this song for the past month and I don't know why I didn't think to feature it on here until now. His voice reminds me a lot of James Morrison's and the song itself is catchy which felt perfect for a Friday.

So that's my week!
What's been on your mind?

  1. With Stitch Fix, you get to choose what items you want to keep and you send the rest back, right? When do they charge your card - after you send the stuff back?

  2. Owning multiple copies of books is perfectly normal, R. I have 4 copies of Throne of Glass (5, if you count my Kindle edition and 6, if you count my ARC), so I totally support the constant book buying! And I'm seriously psyched about our tour, because it is freaking awesome so far :) (That skirt is adorable, by the way!)
