Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, where bloggers share their top ten answers every week. When I was trying to put together this list, five authors almost immediately came to mind and much to my surprise, four out of the five were contemporary writers. And I LOVE fantasy-dystopian-scifi books! I actually didn't get into contemporary until a little over a year ago. But I was trying to think of authors who I had read multiple books/series from and loved. I'm calling these authors The Definites. As in I've read (almost) everything they have out and will automatically buy their next releases with no hesitation.
Who's on your auto-buy list? I'd love to know :)
I like your list...especially because it's well presented. :D
ReplyDeleteWhen I was reading it I thought "Cool author choices" and then I thought, "Wow, so many of them have awesome hair."

Cool list!! I love Stephanie Perkins!! Anna and Lola were so great and now I can't wait for Isla!!! I also really want to read Eleanor & Park now that it's out!!
ReplyDeleteHere's My TTT
I'm excited for Isla too! And I highly recommend reading Eleanor & Park or anything by Rainbow Rowell for that matter :)
DeleteI totally agree with you on Laini Taylor! She’s one of my all-time favorites, though her books aren’t “favorites”. Funny how that works. Like you, I probably wouldn’t buy Rae Carson right away, but she is a fantastic author and I love her books. I REALLY need to read Rainbow Rowell’s novels, though—they look fantastic and everyone loves them.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you say that because that's how I feel about David Levithan. I *LOVE* him and I think he's absolutely amazing. But I don't consider any of his books favorites. Thanks for leaving a comment!
DeleteStephanie Perkins is totally on my auto-buy list! And though I've never read any of Rainbow Rowell's books, I'm sure that once I do, I will love her!
ReplyDeleteStephanie Perkins is very popular on this TTT.. I think almost everyone has mentioned her. I really cannot wait for Isla!
DeleteI've loved the books by Laini Taylor and Marchetta. Excellent list!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm excited for Laini's next book.. and I've still got a bunch of Marchetta books to read. I'm hoping to get started on Finnikin soon :)
DeleteRainbow Rowell is one of my faves too! Isnt she just awesome?

MY TTT
She is! And she seems really nice.. I was very excited when she tweeted me yesterday hehe.
DeleteExcellent idea to have The Definites and the Most Likelys. Such a good idea. Anyway, Stephanie Perkins is on my list too. Seriously, I cannot wait for Isla and the Happily Ever After!
ReplyDeleteThis was a hard TTT and categorizing them made it kinda easier for me. But I'm sure the "most likelys" will eventually become definites haha. Thanks for stopping by the blog!
DeleteOh My God! I forgot Sarah J Mass! Throne of Glass was, like, my favorite 2012 book!
ReplyDeleteGood Picks!

It was one of my faves too. I can't wait for Crown of Midnight!
DeleteLeigh Bardugo, for sure. She has slayed me with Shadow & Bone AND Siege & Storm.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous that you read Siege & Storm already! I just put a request for it on Netgalley. I hope I get approved :)
DeleteSarah J. Maas made it onto mine, and I almost put Leigh Bardugo, Melina Marchetta, and Stephanie Perkins on mine. Have you read Melina Marchetta's Lumatere Chronicles? I noticed you didn't have it listed, and it would be sad-making if you haven't read it yet because not only is it one of her series, it's also fantasy :)
ReplyDeleteI actually haven't read her Lumatere Chronicles! Trust me, it's on my TBR list. I'm definitely planning to read it soon.
DeleteYour graphic is just SO pretty. I adore it! And I think it's smart of you to list them like this. I have yet to experience the writing of Julie Kagawa, Veronica Rossi, Laini Taylor or Rae Carson, so I can't say what I think of those four. But I do love the others!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! And well, you've already heard me tell you that you gotta read their books =P
DeleteI adore your graphic! And the way you separated the list into definites and most likelys. I wish I'd thought of that because I know that some of the authors on my list fall more into the "most likely" category but I wanted to have ten on my list. I included Perkins, Rossi and Marchetta on mine, but I considered Forman and Taylor too! AND I just read and loved Attachments (and can't wait to read Eleanor & Park) so I have a feeling she will be on my auto-buy list in the future!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah it was just easier for me to do it that way. And I loveddd Attachments! Definitely recommend Eleanor & Park too. I'm excited for her next book, Fangirl. She's an amazing writer.
DeleteSuch a pretty graphic :) All of these authors are either on my OMG I NEED TO READ THIS SOON list or my looooooove forever list. Especially Gayle Forman! The woman knows how to make me cry!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I love Gayle Forman too. As much as I loved If I Stay/Where She Went.. it was really Just One Day that put her on my favorites list. I cannot wait for Just One Year!
