This Week's Playlist: Old School Jams. We picked old r&b/hip-hop songs from the 90s that we used to love. (Ok, still love.)
RACHEL • "Back & Forth" by Aaliyah
I didn't start thinking about what song to pick for this week until late last night and out of nowhere I thought of "Back & Forth" by Aaliyah. When I finally sat down at my computer to listen to it, for a split second I felt like I was 11 years old again hearing this song for the first time and I knew immediately, this was my pick. Middle school was the time when I started to obsessively buy CDs (I had quite the collection!) and watched music videos on MTV and BET for hours. Hearing songs like this remind me of that. Just how much I've always loved music - whether I'm singing, dancing or relaxing to it. And even though my taste in music has definitely changed since then.. I'll probably always love songs from the 90s.
CARINA • "Tell Me" by Groove Theory
I was in 8th grade when I first heard this song and immediately fell in love with it. For those who know me, I don't look like the type who would listen to hip hop/r&b but I did and I was obsessed. Being the sappy 13 year old that I was, the song became even more special when I found out the guy I was crushing on at the time loved this song too. With that information, I did what any normal teenager who was in "puppy love" did, I daydreamed and listened to the song non-stop. Hope you guys enjoy this song as much as I did in 8th grade!

I LOVE the 90's!! Especially the songs that you don't hear everytime the 90's are brought up. I totally even forgot that Aaliyah even sang that song :)
