RACHEL • "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2
During my morning commute to work (and right before I passed out for my usual nap), I found myself thinking about this song. I'm not sure why. There's a handful of U2 songs that I love, most of them from the 80s and 90s, which are the ones I remember listening to while growing up (I borrowed my uncle's copy of Joshua Tree pretty often). But I'll admit, I haven't listened or been into any of their recent albums. Then I hear songs like I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, With Or Without You, or One and it never fails to make me feel nostalgic. But I guess this song in particular just fits my mood lately. It's so expressive and filled with this yearning. I can relate. For the last few days I've had this song on repeat and maybe you will too.
CARINA • "Kiss Me" by Ed Sheeran
While waiting for a friend at the park one rainy day, I saw a boy and a girl standing underneath an umbrella enwrapped in the tightest hug I've ever seen, as if it had been months/years since they last saw each other. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but it just looked so romantic and sweet. My friend was running late that day so I stole a few more moments looking at this boy and girl. They stood there for a while, talking, smiling, laughing, and looking both genuinely happy to be together. Their happiness was surprisingly contagious and I found myself getting lost in it and silently wishing them continued happiness in the future. When I heard this song, it reminded me of that one rainy day in the park. I think it would've been the perfect soundtrack for that moment between that boy and girl. Wherever you both are, this song is dedicated to that moment.

I love both picks for this week! I'm a newly minted Ed Sheeran fan, and that U2 song is one of my favorites :)
